Additionally, communities are no longer welcoming digital infrastructure into there municipalities because of resource consumption and utility rate escalations.
This presentation will discuss how “what got us here, wont get us there” which offers new opportunities if we think outside of the box. It will also provide some examples of how some start up companies are driving a more strategic and transformational approach.

Christian Belady is a seasoned veteran in managing Datacenter/Infrastructure Development at
global scale. Currently, he is a strategic foresight advisor and Board member for about 20
companies across the globe including advising DigitalBridge, a Private Equity Firm Specializing in
Digital Infrastructure. Christian retired from Microsoft in 2023, where he had played a pivotal role in
developing one of the largest data center footprints in the world. In his last role at MS, he was Vice
President and Distinguished Engineer of Datacenter R&D to focus on transformational technologies
to address challenges with scaling the cloud and AI. Prior to 2018, Christian led Microsoft’s server
and datacenter development globally which including research, engineering, construction, and
operations for Microsoft’s data center portfolio. He also incubated and led the energy team during
this period.
